So I was recently looking for a new flower shop in the San Jose area for a nice arrangement for my wife and our new baby daughter when I came across Fleurty. This shop has the coolest flower arrangements I have ever seen. These damn things are like floral sculptures. I asked for something with a jungle theme to match our gender-neutral nursery. When I got the flowers it was a veritable jungle environment with beautiful fragrant flowers, actual vines, and diverse colors. The only thing missing were the monkeys. The arrangement pulled a smile onto my tired wife's face and filled our living room with flowery goodness for like two weeks.
I checked out the online displays and these arrangements, honestly, put FTD type joints to shame. I was using another florist for years while courting/apologizing to my wife. As soon as I saw these arrangements, I was done with that place faster than I could kill an orchid. All this design stuff, it turns out, is born of a few years of high level floral activity by the shops owner. The owner, Sachi Yamazaki, does flowers for Macy's fashion shows, celebrity appearances like Paris Hilton's appearance at Valley Fair and top-ranked restaurants, according to the website.
I don't usually get all misty-eyed over flower shops, but when someone is doing something truly different and with style, grace and a unique perspective, I get excited. SO, next time you need flowers and want something designed to match the Paris fashion houses instead of a still life painting from 1884, check out Fleurty.
